Yarram Street Art Town, Australian Silo Art Trail

Yarram - Victoria

Yarram - The Town That Refuses to Quit!

Yarram is a major service centre for coastal communities in Gippsland, and is located south of the Strzelecki Ranges, east of Wilsons Promontory and inland from the historic Port Albert.

The South Gippsland Highway passes through Yarram on its journey near Victoria's southern coastline, opening into a wide boulevard through the town centre with attractive gardens in the central strip. This offers an easy drive through this beautiful part of the world with the added surprise of some of the best street art on offer in Australia.

Not giving up

The area has suffered through bushfires and now recently the Corona virus pandemic, so when in these times of crisis, the town of Yarram decided to turn to ART as its secret weapon against a potential tourist downturn, depression, and financial ruin.

The town adopted an Internationally acclaimed street & silo artist to transform their building walls into a blaze of colour and hope.

Street Art Around The Town

The Project Background

World renowned street and silo artist Heesco Khosnaran was invited by artist & film maker Wayne Tindall to transform the entire town of Yarram in Victoria over a four-week period in March 2020.

The project was the brainchild of local Yarram identity Eric Greenaway who saw Heesco’s art works on the walls of Yarram’s Bull Bar & Gallery, a bar recently founded by Anne & Wayne Tindall.

Heesco and Wayne Tindall have painted many Victorian skate parks together including the Foster Skate Park, so it was an easy decision to invite Heesco back to Yarram to transform the town over a four-week period
