The Woolgoolga Water Tower was painted by Mr Lee Holmes, a prominent artist in the Coffs Harbour area, with this particular artwork inaugurated on the 11th January 2011.
The artwork was expected to take 9 to 13 weeks to paint, but with bad weather and other circumstances it ended up taking around 7 months.
The mural depicts the annual migration of the Humpbacked Whales which can be observed off the Woolgoolga Headland between May and October.
