The Wool Bay Water Tank Art was designed and painted by Sam Brooks with the assistance of Mark Harding, Harley Hall, Rachelle Plazeriano and Gary Nowlan, with the artwork completed in March 2023.

The Wool Bay community, along with the lead artist Sam brooks, met to decide on the overall mural themes to best suit the town and surrounding area.  The history of wool exports, the lime kiln and local flora and fauna deciding to be featured. The community also allowed Sam to add some of his own expression to the artwork. Harley included his Cultural representations to the front of the piece when looking from the road.

The artwork is part of the Southern Yorke Peninsula Water Tower Mural extension project which also includes the recently completed giant mural at Minlacowie.

This project was managed by Yorke Peninsula Council and funded by the Australian Government's Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Programme and SA Water.
