The Richmond Water Tank Art was completed in January 2022 by artist Bastian Allfrey.

The 360-deg. artwork is 20 meters above ground level. Approximately 200 deg. of the art can be seen and photographed from the street and spare allotment on the town-side of the adjacent Caravan Park. Permission from the Park Manageress would need to be obtained to see the rest of the art, as you need to enter the caravan park to see it.

The Lake View Caravan Park & its Manageress, Morgan, on whose property the Tower Art is on, welcomes Caravanners & Motorhomes, with powered sites and a large, covered camp kitchen area, as well as ensuite cabins for up to 4 people.  You can then see and photograph the Richmond Water Tower Art from all angles at all times of the day.

Across the Flinders Highway, The Shell Midway Roadhouse has Hot & Cold meals or takeaways, besides snacks & fuel as well as Motel Rooms, & welcomes Tower Art travelers.

Titled Cobb & Co. Coach

The idea behind the art & scenery was to represent the old mail service that trekked through this area from the year 1866. Cobb & Co. ran coaches in Qld from 1866 and was Australia's biggest coach company with American style 'thoroughbrace' coaches which had leather strap suspensions which enabled them to journey over all extremes of terrain.

The Richmond Mural Project was undertaken & overseen by Gretchen Hayman of Red Ridge Interior Qld, based in Blackall, Qld. 4472. Overall, it took 10 days to complete, two of which were spent cleaning and prepping the tower.

Funding was by Richmond Shire Council.
