The Lockhart Water Tower Mural in New South Wales is set right in the beating heart of Lockhart. You can find it in Green Street outside the council chambers.

It depicts a flowing waterfall set to slake the thirst of many of Australia’s iconic wildlife and show off the areas native flora and fauna to perfection. It’s a very vibrant piece of art.

The tower mural was painted by artists Scott Nagy and Janne Birkner, aka Krimsone in just over two weeks using freehand spray cans. They applied 600m2 of undercoat to the tower prior to painting it and in total the mural cost just $28,000 to complete. The mural was officially opened on 12th October 2018.

Several community sponsors including the tower owners, Riverina Water County Council made the mural possible. Credit must also go to the Australian Government for a Regional Arts Fund grant. The Lockhart Shire Council and Progress Association, The Bendigo and Adelaide Bank, Rotary and Coates Hire.

Surrounding the Lockhart Water Tower in the CWA Park are several metal sculptures made by local artists. Around Lockhart, there are other art installations and galleries which you can find by visiting the Lochhart Shire's official art page.
