The Western Silo Mural completes a diptych art piece between the two Lameroo Viterra silos. The murals each focus on a different time in Lameroo’s rich agricultural story. The Western Silo contrasts with the Eastern Silo piece: man and woman, past and present, sunrise and sunset, age and youth, manpower and technology, tradition and innovation, prospecting and property.
While opposing in many ways, the artworks also portray an underlying theme of resilience, determination, and sacrifice, capturing the essence of rural life and the farming community’s growth and transformation.
Completed by Smug in April 2025, this artwork celebrates the integral, evolving, and empowering role women play in Lameroo’s farming community.
