By day one side of the Karoonda Silos is magnificent tribute to the heritage of farming in Karoonda.

By night, an ever-changing display of art from South Australian artists lights up the main street attraction. The projection artworks are continually changing, meaning there’s always something new to see. Rain, hail or shine, the projection shows run all year, every evening from sunset for up to three hours

It’s the first of its kind in Australia to offer Silo Art by day and Cinema Art by night. A great enticement to get visitors to stay the night in this wonderful little town.

It was painted by renowned Australian artist Heesco, a veteran now to the Australian Silo Art Trail having now also painted Weethalle and Grenfell prior to Karoonda.

It took Heesco approximately 38 days to paint this South Australian Viterra Silo, completing the project on July 26th, 2019. These silos join the trail at number 33.

Additional parking Information

This is a working silo, so please be respectful and keep your distance.

There is a great small car park and display area adjacent to the silos in Railway Terrace.

Parking for caravans and motor-homes is on the road side adjacent to the park and display area. This works well if you are coming from Loxton in the Riverland, heading towards Adelaide.  If you are coming from the other way, Adelaide, we suggest parking in a side street, as parking across the street from the silos is all marked angle parking.
