The Holloway's Beach Tower was transformed as part of the 2018 Sea Walls Australia Festival by legendary German Post Graffiti duo Low Bros.

It is located in the middle Raintree Park at Holloways Beach, just a 10-minute drive from the Cairns CBD in Far North Queensland.

The work focuses Coral Bleaching, a negative environmental condition brought on by human stressors such as pollution, rising sea temperatures and over-fishing. This threat affects the fragile ecosystems of tropical seas, particularly the Great Barrier Reef.

Low Bros are quoted as saying “As with most of our works the wolves are the protagonists, the counterparts for human nature. We have shown them floating underwater among the reefs, in reality both our aesthetic and the coral share a vibrant palette but the bleaching is stripping the colour from the bottom up, creeping over the surrounding fauna and even the wolves themselves.

The use of colour, or rather lack thereof; points to the connectedness which is central to our work. We hope the work will raise awareness of the fact that this issue is not localised to the reef or even just the seas. The disturbance of this fragile balance could spell the collapse of the reef structure, resulting in a significant impact in our economic and political climate. Nature is not something we should have to choose protect, If we lose our biodiversity, we lose life."

Sea Walls Australia is a ground-breaking public art program that brings the message of ocean conservation and environmental stewardship into streets around the country.

The Holloway's Beach Water Tower is located on a small triangular reserve. One side of the triangle is Oleander Street which is the main road into Holloway's Beach. It does have some kerb side parking, but the other side road which is Alamanda Street is more suitable for parking large vehicles. Here you can pull off the road and park on the reserve. Suitable for caravans and motor-homes alike.
