The Grenfell Silo art captivates with its brilliance during the day and transforms into a mesmerizing spectacle at night. Witness the mesmerizing Grenfell Silos Lightshow, a captivating spectacle lighting up the night every evening from sunset until 9:30 PM, all year round. Grab a chair, pack a picnic, and immerse yourself in the beauty of this dazzling initiative proudly presented by the Grow Grenfell Group.

The 1926 Grain Silos at Grenfell are proudly owned by Grenfell Commodities and it was the initiative of the founder, Peter Mawhinney, to commission the silos to be painted. Peter was inspired by the artwork on the Weethalle Silos and could envisage that the silos at Grenfell were the perfect canvas for Heesco Khosnaran to create another masterpiece.

The motivation behind the project was to create a legacy for the town in acknowledgement for the years of loyalty received from the local community from which Grenfell Commodities has prospered.

This outstanding and highly detailed mural took Heesco five weeks to complete, completing the artwork in March 2019. The artwork used 180 litres of paint and 800 spray cans.

The artwork is a compilation of images which represents the contemporary farming industry and landscape of the Weddin Shire. The foreground features sheep, cattle and native birds, set in a farming landscape crowned by the Weddin Mountains National Park. The skyscape incorporates the natural sepia colour of the silo topped with light cloud coverage.

The artwork is an adaption of photographs taken by local photographer D.A Yates. This privately commissioned artwork was funded by Grenfell Commodities for all to enjoy.

There is ample parking at this location for all size vehicles, with even an overnight camping spot just 300 meters down the road.
