In February 2023, the Water Tank at Dodges Ferry in Tasmania received a stunning makeover by the artist Jamin. The artwork on the tank showcases the natural beauty of the area and its unique wildlife. Here are the key elements depicted in the painting.

The mural captures the image of a Growing Grass Frog, which can be found in the picturesque Blue Lagoon Nature Reserve. This reserve, known for its stunning blue lagoon, serves as a habitat for these frogs.

Located in Frederick Henry Bay, near Dodges Ferry, the artwork represents a striking Red Handfish. This species, endemic to the waters of Tasmania, stands out with its distinctive hand-like fins.

Another notable feature of the mural is a depiction of a Hooded Plover family at the Carlton River Mouth. These delightful birds' nest in the dunes along the foreshore of Carlton and Dodges. Sadly, their habitat is under threat, and Tasmania is believed to be home to approximately half of the remaining Hooded Plover (Eastern) population.

Jamin's choice to highlight these local species and their habitats not only adds aesthetic beauty to the water tank but also raises awareness about the crucial need to preserve these precious ecosystems.
