The Cressy Water Tower Art was completed by Tim Bowtell in January 2024. Standing tall at  60-foot the project took Tim three weeks to compete.

The completion of the Cressy water Tower project is a significant milestone for the Cressy community, marking the culmination of years of effort and planning by the Cressy & District History Group. The collaboration between Barwon Water, the History Group, and various funding partners has resulted in the transformation of the Cressy water tower into a visually striking representation of local history.

Renowned artist Tim Bowtell's expertise and skill have brought to life four murals that encapsulate key aspects of the region's heritage. The inclusion of elements such as the Woady Yallock River, steam trains symbolizing the area's railway history, and vintage aircraft representing the Cressy RAAF Base from World War II adds depth and richness to the artwork.

This initiative not only serves as a testament to the community's pride in its history but also enhances the region's appeal as a tourist destination. By extending the Silo Arts Trail along the Hamilton Highway, the Cressy water tower now stands as a landmark attraction, visible to all who approach the township.

Moreover, the project's completion underscores the importance of collaboration between public and private entities in fostering community development and promoting cultural heritage. The support provided by Barwon Water and other funding partners reflects a shared commitment to enriching the lives of residents and visitors alike.

As the tower continues to serve its essential function within Cressy's water supply infrastructure, it now also stands as a vibrant symbol of local identity and pride, contributing to the economic, cultural, and social vitality of the community.
