Bute Silo Art - South Australia

Artists: Janne Birkner & Scott Nagy

Location: 18 Martin Rd, Bute SA

Proudly owned by: Vittera

Work on the Bute Silo Art project was completed by Juddy Roller artists Scott Nagy and Janne Birkner.

The final design for the silos was developed based on the community feedback survey Council undertook in August 2021. That survey revealed that the highest priorities in the community were lots of colour and elements of local agriculture, flora, and fauna.

Council understand that art is subjective and there are bound to be a range of opinions on the finished work. What we think we can all agree on is that each silo will be completely unique to our region and will help to attract visitors to the stunning Top of the Yorke

The silo art project has been 10 years in the making with the Bute 2000 onwards progress committee working tirelessly to make it happen. Council and the Progress Committee successfully applied for a grant through the FRRR (Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal) Tackling Tough Times Together program in 2021 to help fund the project.

Visitors are reminded that the area is a working construction site and they must not enter the Viterra property. The best area to view the emerging artwork is from the old Bute Railway Station.

Council can't wait to see the finished design and hope you are all as excited as we are.
