Broome Water Tank Art - Western Australia

Artist: Mel McVee and the students of North Broome Primary School

Location: Cable Beach Road, Broome, Western Australia

I’m excited to announce that there is a new painted water tank in Broome in Western Australia. It is now on our map, and can be found on Cable Beach Road, near the beach public toilets and Zanders.

It’s another project to add to the Water Corporation’s “Splash of Colour” program with this one being funded by Water Corporation’s Kimberley Community Grants Scheme.

Designed by Perth-based artist Mel McVee in her now very recognisable style, Mel worked with the students of Broome North Primary School and their families to create this stunning mural celebrating the local community’s unique bird life and waterways.

The colourful artwork profiles seven different types of local birds, including the Black-tailed Godwit, White-bellied Sea-eagle and Black-necked Stork to name a few.

Located on popular Cable Beach beside Zanders Restaurant.
