The old Biboohra water tanks have now been given a new lease of life by creative artist Sara Dragotto as part of the Mareeba Shire Mural Action Plan. In the next four years, they are aiming to finish 11 murals with Biboorah being the first.

These tanks are located opposite the entrance to the Biboohra State School.

This vibrant mural is titled “Earth and Fire”

Sara's mural depicts seasonal changes and provides us with a reminder about the risks of bushfires in the dry season and the thriving tropical savannah.

The wildfire scene shows deep red and yellow colours illustrating the bravery of our rural fire fighters.

The other tank depicts a tropical environment featuring the Red-Tailed Black Cockatoo,

a species that are often seen flying high at sunset, returning from feeding areas and roosts in large trees along the banks of rivers and streams.
